At 88 years of age, Julie Andrews is relishing her final days by indulging in her favorite show tunes and finding joy in the little things, according to reports from RadarOnline.

Insiders have revealed that the beloved star of The Princess Diaries fills her Hamptons residence with timeless melodies that bring her happiness.

“It’s a testament to her enduring love for the art form,” shared a close friend. “Every moment in this final chapter is savored with appreciation for life’s simplest yet most profound pleasures.”

The same friend also said: “The laughter of loved ones, the fragrance of fresh blossoms, and the timeless refrains of Broadway classics fill her days!”

Andrews recently marked her birthday on October 1, and she was seen out and about, picking up a bouquet of flowers at the Sag Harbor farmers market, exuding a cheerful spirit and sharing smiles with onlooking cameras, aided by a cane.

Reflecting on her birthday celebrations from the previous year, Andrews said: “I had family at my house, and then the next night, we all went out. And so many well wishes and cards and things like that. I was very moved by it all.”

In 2022, Andrews fondly reminisced on her feature film debut in the Walt Disney blockbuster Mary Poppins, which earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress.

“It was a brand new thing in my life that I’d never done before. It was for Walt Disney, of course, and the songs in Mary Poppins had a kind of Vaudeville quality to them,” she revealed in an interview with Vanity Fair.

“I think it’s what attracted me to the role because all that kind of ‘Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious’ and ‘Jolly Holiday’ music was very much like the kind of things that you hear in English vaudeville.”

Julie Andrews first made her mark in the world of entertainment through her iconic performances in renowned Broadway musicals such as My Fair Lady in 1956 and Camelot in 1960.

She has continued to captivate audiences, recently lending her voice as Lady Whistledown, the narrator of the popular Netflix series Bridgerton.

When asked about the possibility of making an on-screen cameo in the show during an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Andrews gave a firm no. “No, no, no. You know who Lady Whistledown really is, so I’m afraid it stays with me in the background. But I’m very happy to do that,” she said.

Andrews also left her vocal mark in animated films, voicing Queen Lillian in the Shrek franchise and Marlena in the Despicable Me franchise.

Clearly, Julie Andrews has been able to stay relevant across multiple generations, which is a real testament to her talent.
