Mom’s Cake Diplomacy at the Airport

I was sitting in a café at the airport with my mom, both of us feeling exhausted after a long day of travel. The hustle and bustle of the airport was overwhelming, but we were grateful for a moment of rest. We were sitting next to a woman and her young child, who seemed just as tired as we were.

As we sat there, I noticed the woman trying to encourage her child to eat something. The little one, however, was stubbornly refusing to touch any of the food on the table. It was clear the child was in no mood to eat, and the mother was starting to get a bit frustrated.

In an attempt to get her child to eat, the woman pulled out a small cake and asked, “What about the cake? Who is going to eat it?” With a lighthearted tone, she tried to entice the child, but it seemed like the cake wasn’t going to do the trick either. To my surprise, my mom chimed in with a smile, saying, “I can do it!”

Before we knew it, the baby eagerly grabbed the cake and devoured it in record time. It was amusing to watch how quickly the child ate, as if the cake was the solution to all the hunger woes. We all shared a quiet laugh, and the moment of exhaustion was briefly forgotten as we enjoyed the simple, unexpected joy of the situation.
