While all eyes have recently been trained on any and all news King Charles and Kate Middleton, the Royal Family has been making its best attempt to carry on business as usual.

Earlier today the Royal Family’s official Instagram released a video showing Queen Camilla hosting the finalists of the BBC’s 500 Words competition.

It was a fun and innocent video, but some observant fans caught one detail that they believe was a dig at Prince Harry.

Keep reading to see the cheeky reference.

According to the caption of the video, the Queen hosted “finalists and their families, alongside some special celebrity guests, for an exciting event at Buckingham Palace to award young authors with the coveted 500 Words prize.”

The video shows some behind the scenes moments, including one that caused many to wonder if it was referring to Prince Harry.

During one of the very first frames of the video, the clip shows audio equipment arranged on a table. Each one has been labeled.

The one that was front and centered was labeled “SPARE,” perhaps a nod to the Duke of Sussex’s tell-all memoir.

Fans had a field day.

“Who filmed the mic pack with “Spare” written on it and thought “yeah that’s great, i can’t see anyone picking up on anything here . . ” 🤦🏻‍♂️😂 one commenter wrote.

““Spare” 😂😂😂 Come on guys, at least try to keep your shade subtle,” someone else commented on the video.

Prince Harry released his bombshell memoir, titled Spare, in January 2023. The title refers to a term his family used to call him.

“Wonderful. Now you’ve given me an heir and a spare, my work is done,” the Duke of Sussex said his father King Charles told his mother Princess Diana after his birth. “They would say it without a spirit of judgment, but straight out. I was the shadow, the supporting actor, the plan B.”

What do you think of the clip? Was it made as a dig to Prince Harry or is it simply coincidental?
