‘The View’ Host Sunny Hostin Shocks Audience With Reaction To Trump Ruling: ‘Right Decision’
Sunny Hostin, co-host of The View, applauded the liberal justices’ “dissent” in Monday’s decision upholding former president Donald Trump’s eligibility to run for office in each of the 50 states. To the surprise of a lot of people, Hostin also said that she supported the decision.

Moments after the decision was made, Whoopi Goldberg declared, to the audible groans of the assembled audience, “The Supreme Court has just ruled unanimously that Colorado courts cannot keep you know who off the state’s ballot for engaging in insurrection.”
Hostin said she generally agreed with the conclusion when she asked the panel what they thought of it. In actuality, she stated, “I believe it was the right choice because, you know, if Colorado had been permitted to do that, we would have this disorganized process where you have 50 states and some are choosing to put him on the ballot and some are choosing not to put him on the ballot.”

Despite the fact that the decision was unanimous, Hostin continued by praising the “dissent” of liberal justices Sotomayor, Kagan, and Jackson. “Therefore, the jury reached a unanimous result in this case. However, if you read the dissenting opinions of Justices Sotomayor, Kagan, and Jackson, you’ll see that they argue the Supreme Court overreached itself by providing a decision on a matter that wasn’t presented to them, according to Hostin.

“Can a state do this? was the only question this court had to consider. Rather than that, they protected all of the accused insurrectionists from being challenged in the future for their federal post. She said, “And that is a fundamental principle of Supreme Court law. Hostin said that the court’s decision ought to have had a more specific scope, noting that she is a “Supreme Court admitted, bar admitted attorney.”
