Traditional lemonade stands are fun for everyone. A kid eager to sell you some refreshing lemonade on a hot day is one of life’s little pleasures.

The local police officer recently contacted a little boy called Landen who was operating a lemonade stand and selling cookies near his house.

The boy’s grandmother filmed their chat and shared it on her Facebook page.

As the poster put it, “Just saying we are so quick to put down how BAD we get treated sometimes, but I have to say i was blessed by officer J Perez Ansonia PD.”

Police Officer Perez from the Ansonia, Connecticut, department stopped to visit with Landen and inquire about his plans for the proceeds from his lemonade stand.

Landen mentioned that he required blue sneakers for class.

After wrapping up their discussion, Officer Perez left.

A short time later, Officer Perez came back to the lemonade stand, this time with a pair of blue sneakers for Landen, who was then seven years old.

To put it mildly, Landen was overjoyed.

“He made my baby’s day yesterday and not only that, he made him feel like a king,” Wendelyn Narvaez said of Officer Perez.

Days later Narvaez shared a photo of Landen happily sporting his new sneakers.

Ansonia Police Chief Wayne Williams responded to Perez’s act of kindness by saying officers like Perez “are the types of officers that we are all looking to hire.”

It is so true. We often hear the bad things that police officers do, but not the good things. This was such a kind gesture.
