His reasoning? I \u201cwasn\u2019t good enough for him.\u201d Apparently, he\u2019d landed a big promotion at work and suddenly felt like I didn\u2019t fit his new image. Sounds crazy, right?<\/p>\n

According to him, he needed someone more refined, someone posh\u2014basically, someone who wasn\u2019t me. He claimed I lacked ambition and drive and that he wanted a partner who could match his \u201chigh standards.\u201d It hit me hard. I was a total wreck, wallowing in self-misery for months.<\/p>\n
