I don\u2019t think I\u2019ll ever truly understand why so many people take to social media to critique the lives and looks of celebrities, but I\u2019ve accepted that it\u2019s the world we live in.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s become common practice for the internet to be flooded by comments \u2013 both positive and negative \u2013 in the days after any event that draws a large number of high-profile figures. The Oscars, the Grammys, the Met Gala\u2026 the list goes on.<\/p>\n

For reasons unbeknownst to me, there seems to be particular focus placed on just what\u2019s being worn at these events. Celebrity wardrobe choices have always been of interest to folk, I guess, but it\u2019s only in recent years that people have been able to air their opinions publicly en masse.<\/p>\n

In any case, the 77th Cannes Film Festival took place this past weekend and \u2013 yep, you guessed it \u2013 there was much and more said about the respective outfits of those in attendance during the days that followed.<\/p>\n

Yet few drew attention quite like the legendary Demi Moore, whose appearance on the red carpet became the subject of a diverse range of reactions online.<\/p>\n

Moore, 61, was also a topic of discussion following her appearance at Dolce and Gabbana\u2019s 40th anniversary party earlier this year, then again at this year\u2019s Met Gala.<\/p>\n

This time, the actress stunned in a silver gown featuring an arrowed segment that thrust straight out from her left shoulder. She also donned an eye-catching ensemble of silver and diamond jewelry.<\/p>\n

If you ask me, the G.I. Jane star looked nothing short of spectacular. But then, what do I know?<\/p>\n

In any case, the internet certainly had plenty to say, and not everyone seemed to be totally onboard with Moore\u2019s look.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt doesn\u2019t even look like her. What on earth has she had done?\u201d one person wrote on Instagram.<\/p>\n

Another said: \u201cDemi looked like she has been embalmed.\u201d<\/p>\n

A third added: \u201cThat\u2019s virtually a whole face transplant; she is unrecognizable.\u201d<\/p>\n
