As youngsters, Barbra Streisand would sit her little sister Roslyn Kind on the toilet seat and brush her hair, oftentimes harmonizing together songs like \u2018Row, Row, Row Your Boat.\u2018<\/p>\n
Many decades later, the lesser-known Kind can be seen on international stages, still harmonizing with her legendary sister, with whom she shares an unbreakable bond.<\/p>\n
Expressing her love and support, Streisand recently shared a rare childhood image of the adorable siblings as young girls, wishing Kind a happy 73rd birthday. Keep reading to learn more Streisand\u2019s kid sister!<\/p>\n
Roslyn Kind, 73, learned over the decades to not compare herself with her older half-sister Barbra Streisand.<\/p>\n
Growing up nine years apart, Kind and Streisand \u2013 who turned 82 on April 24 \u2013 share a close and supportive relationship, a bond that strengthened over the years.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy sister used to put me on the toilet seat and comb my hair and she used to take pictures of my profile. We used to [harmonize] together.\u201d says Kind, who in her interview, then sings \u2018Row, Row, Row Your Boat\u2018 to demonstrate. \u201cI don\u2019t know if Barbra remembers our doing that. But she was out of the house at a young age. She left home after she graduated early.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u2018It\u2019s very hard\u2019
\nKind explains she started her career as \u201ca chubby little kid from Brooklyn,\u201d recording the song for her first album on graduation day as a teenager.<\/p>\n
But separating herself from Streisand, who first appeared on Broadway when she was only 14, was challenging for Kind, who wanted to establish her own identity.<\/p>\n

Speaking with WGN Radio on April 28, 2024, she detailed what it\u2019s like to be the little sister of the multi-talented star, saying, \u201cIt\u2019s something I obviously have to deal with, it\u2019s a fact of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sharing the same Brooklyn accent as Streisand, Kind continues, \u201cI\u2019m the baby sister of Barbra Streisand, but she\u2019s also my sister and I\u2019ve come a long way in my own place in life\u2026My sisters an iconic figure. And I\u2019ll never be who she is.\u201d<\/p>\n
In a separate interview, Kind admits that \u201cit\u2019s very hard,\u201d because \u201ceven though you don\u2019t go in that direction, people compare you anyway.\u201d<\/p>\n
