For 14 months, we tried, prayed, and waited. Month after month. Negative pregnancy test after negative test. It seemed like we were going to need assistance to conceive. We even went as far as to talk to doctors about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FMerSaDaz1%2Fposts%2Fpfbid02LAmavyt5ydL9eAQqGfPbGY7WTgR89aH1h9A5kTW7fSu8PUxtnN7UVkiGY2Fh3ozXl&#038;show_text=true&#038;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"685\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Doctors didn\u2019t seem to offer the couple much help. They all told Sadie to lose weight and she would conceive so with no other advice to go on she had gastric surgery and lost 28 pounds.<\/p>\n<p>Sadie\u2019s OBGYN shared her excitement at the weight loss and told Sadie how proud she was of her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe told me that if I wasn\u2019t pregnant within six months then she would refer me to a fertility specialist, because she couldn\u2019t prescribe me the fertility medication,\u201d Sadie said. \u201cI was over the moon about that. Finally, we got something other than a no! We got a \u2018not right now,\u2019 and we were thrilled.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But sadly the couple didn\u2019t get pregnant as they thought they would after Sadie lost the weight and they felt like they were back where they started.<\/p>\n<p>Putting The Pieces Together \u2013 Adoption Puzzle FundraiserAs you all know two weeks ago we got a call about our little\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Posted by Sadie Sampson on Friday, August 30, 2019<br \/>\n\u201cI had always felt like I was born to be a mother,\u201d Sadie shared. \u201cMy surgeon had taken so much time to warn me about how fertile I would be after surgery, but I still wasn\u2019t pregnant. So, we gave up. We realized that we were only destined to be an aunt and uncle to our nieces, and godparents to our goddaughters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Just when the couple had decided to give up their heartbreaking attempts to conceive, Sadie received a text from her friend asking if they would consider fostering a baby that a couple she knew were considering for their baby.<\/p>\n<p>The couple were hesitant at first as at that point they were told by a caseworker to take care of the baby while the mom sought treatment. The couple were worried they\u2019d get too attached to the baby. But shortly after that story changed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe birth mom decided she would like you guys to adopt the child instead,\u201d the caseworker said.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fphoto%2F%3Ffbid%3D10220216312909744%26set%3Da.2619931549280&#038;show_text=true&#038;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"480\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018Holy crap!!,\u2019 I said aloud,\u201d Sadie recalled of the moment she found out she was going to be a mom.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe went from not having any children, to the possibility of fostering one, to, \u2018You guys are parents!,\u2019 overnight. I listened to the case worker as she talked, still in disbelief. I hung up and called my husband! \u2018Babe!!  They want us to adopt the baby! They want us to be parents,\u2019 I screamed. \u2018Wait! REALLY?! I thought they just wanted us to foster him!,\u2019 he said. \u2018Nope! They want us to be his mom and dad,\u2019 I said.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The couple had a weekend of absorbing the shocking news but also preparing themselves just in case the mom changed her mind.<\/p>\n<p>Monday came and the couple were not only told the mother still wanted them to adopt the baby but that she wanted to do an independent adoption and was ready to sign that day.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FMerSaDaz1%2Fposts%2Fpfbid02jYHUsG1f4RJT3TKzp5aN7CGLvYNhvKhTmTYz1553jt2CBfkeDdf4jf5XmgiAG8gql&#038;show_text=true&#038;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"532\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Their baby boy had been born at 33 weeks, seven weeks early. He was 4 lbs., 5 oz. \u201cHe literally fit in one of my husband\u2019s hands,\u201d Sadie wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was so tiny, swaddled in a white blanket, with pink and blue stripes,\u201d Sadie added. \u201cHe had an NG tube coming out of his nose because he couldn\u2019t eat on his own since he was premature. But my oh my, was he cute!!!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The couple shared their news on social media and was encouraged to make a registry. They listed 72 items and after just three days 55 had been bought for them.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fphoto.php%3Ffbid%3D10224151570448723%26set%3Da.1515444937805%26type%3D3&#038;show_text=true&#038;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"564\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Ezra Lee\u2019s adoption was finalized in October 2020 and the couple had the most adorable photos taken of them as a family wearing t-shirts which said \u201cfamilies don\u2019t have to match.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 2021, Sadie and Jarvis became parents to twin girls Journee and Destinee through embryo donation.
