Toby Keith loved his life and his favorite bar. He was a country singer who died at 62 on February 5th, almost three years after finding out he had stomach cancer. He often talked about his life with cancer, his love for his wife and kids, and his passion for music.<\/p>\n
Toby was born in Clinton, Oklahoma, on July 8, 1961. He fell in love with music when he was 8 years old after his grandma gave him a guitar. He started writing songs as a teenager and played in local bars with his band Easy Money after finishing high school.After working in oil fields for a while, Toby focused more on his music career. His first album in 1993 was a big success, especially the song \u201cShould\u2019ve Been a Cowboy.\u201d<\/p>\n
He met his wife Tricia when he was 20. They got married in 1984 and had three kids together. Toby\u2019s career took off with hits like \u201cHow Do You Like Me Now?!\u201d, \u201cBeer for My Horses,\u201d and \u201cI Love This Bar.\u201dEven though he didn\u2019t win a Grammy, he won many other awards. Toby also started his own record label and was in charge of other country singers.<\/p>\n
Toby\u2019s kids grew up with him being famous but weren\u2019t too focused on the music business. He also tried acting and appeared in movies like \u201cBroken Bridges.\u201d<\/p>\n
Outside of music and movies, Toby started his own clothing line and a chain of restaurants called \u201cI Love This Bar and Grill.\u201d He also helped create a charity for kids with cancer called Ally\u2019s House.<\/p>\n
Toby was passionate about many things like raising racehorses and collecting cars and motorcycles. He didn\u2019t want people to think he had a political agenda even though he supported different presidents.<\/p>\n
In 2022, Toby announced he had stomach cancer. He had treatments and surgeries but still performed at shows. He received an award in 2023 and performed in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n
