Jamie Foxx \u2013 hospitalization
\nThe 56-year-old Ray star was hospitalized on April 11. A statement from his daughter Corinne stated that he had \u201cexperienced a medical complication\u201d but was \u201calready on his way to recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n

The family did not disclose any further details about what health issues Foxx was facing, and the actor was completely out of the public eye for months, leading to some reports that his health was worse than they were letting on: an anonymous source said Foxx was battling serious condition and that his friends and family were preparing for the worst.<\/p>\n

\u201cJamie\u2019s people are saying he\u2019s doing OK and improving, while doctors try to get to the bottom of his problems \u2014 but he wouldn\u2019t be in a hospital this long if he was anything close to OK,\u201d a source told RadarOnline. \u201cHis friends and family are hoping for the best \u2014 but preparing for the worst!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy heart is heavy this morning,\u201d tweeted actress Nia Long. \u201cPraying for our brother Jamie Foxx. My love and prayers run deep for you and your loved ones.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, Corinne Foxx disputed the rumors, saying that her father had \u201cbeen out of the hospital for weeks\u201d and was \u201cplaying pickleball.\u201d<\/p>\n

Return to public life
\nFans were worried for weeks about whether they would ever see Jamie Foxx again \u2014 but then, the actor began appearing in public again, appearing healthy.<\/p>\n

In July, onlookers spotted Foxx aboard a boat on the Chicago River, and he was later seen returning a stranger\u2019s bag.<\/p>\n

In an Instagram video posted that month, Foxx finally broke his silence in an Instagram video. He thanked his fans for their thoughts and prayers: \u201cI cannot even begin to tell you how far it took me, and how it brought me back,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI went through something that I thought I would never, ever go through. I know a lot of people were waiting, or wanting to hear updates, and to be honest with you \u2013 I just didn\u2019t want you to see me like that.\u201d<\/p>\n
