In 2022, they revealed that their 25-year-old daughter, Gracie, had been diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS).<\/p>\n

They received an outpouring of love and support at the time, and Gracie has taken to social media recently to update everyone on her condition. <\/p>\n

\u201cI just wanted to share really quick that I have recently been diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). To get the correct diagnosis you would need 2 out of the 5 characteristics of PCOS and I had 3.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the post, Gracie continued, \u201cDuring my appointment with my endocrinologist I realized that may had been a factor in my issues with weight, so we decided to try a medicine to regulate my body more normally and create the tools to continue to keep my body and myself healthy as I get older.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gracie did not hide any part of her condition, explaining, \u201cI\u2019m learning to navigate the new blemishes but I don\u2019t think that I would have ever allowed myself to go to a doctors appointment like this unless I had taken the correct steps toward my mental health, because as much as physical health is important, mental goes hand and hand.\u201d<\/p>\n

The young McGraw has been applauded by fans online who appreciate her transparency about her condition.<\/p>\n

According to John Hopkins Medicine, PCOS is a very common hormone problem for women of childbearing age.<\/p>\n

Women with this condition may not ovulate and they can have high levels of androgens. Some also have small cysts on the ovaries. PCOS may also cause irregular menstrual periods, excess hair growth, acne, infertility, and weight gain.<\/p>\n

\u201dSending love to those who are struggling with something similar or literally anything at all. Mental health is freaking hard !! It\u2019s a long road but we can get through it,\u201d the star added.<\/p>\n

\u201cI share my experience to hope my situation has reached someone who can relate. P.S The medicine I\u2019m taking has given me a body I haven\u2019t had in years (maybe ever?). It\u2019s weird to navigate but I\u2019m finding ways to love her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fans rushed to comment and react to the young woman\u2019s honesty, thanking her and calling things such as \u201cbrave\u201d and \u201cbeautiful\u201d.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, Gracie has had to endure a lot regarding her body. In 2021 she was mocked for her shape and responded to a body shamer by embracing herself while showing off some dance moves!<\/p>\n

\u201cToday I looked in the mirror and was feeling fine about myself. I ended up going to a store and picked up a the largest size they had in a dress, which was an 8 btw (bs) I wear a 10, and the lady who was working in the store literally took the dress out of my hands and said \u2018that\u2019s not going to fit you\u2019,\u201d she wrote in the beginning of the caption.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell first, duh because idk it\u2019s not my size??, and second the fact that she literally took the dress out of my hands and verbally told me that I was too big for it really made me upset,\u201d she wrote on Instagram and continued:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt didn\u2019t only make me upset that she was basically calling me too big but it mostly made me upset because so many stores do this, they only put smaller sizes out and then when you try on their bigger sizes they don\u2019t even go above your knees,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been wearing the same jean size for two or three years now and every time I try a new brand OR EVEN THE SAME ONE I PREVIOUSLY OWN, the size 30 is somehow smaller even if my own body has stayed the same size. It\u2019s not just pants, it\u2019s literally EVERYTHING.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gracie has, of course, the support of her whole family \u2013 including Tim McGraw. In 2020, Tim spoke up about his daughter, and the country singer shared exactly how proud he is of her:<\/p>\n

\u201cGracie, our oldest daughter, is an actress in L.A., and she makes me proud every day because she\u2019s such a strong, independent young lady who speaks her mind.\u201d<\/p>\n
