A photo of a man keeping his wife company as she underwent isolation during cancer radiation treatment has gone viral.<\/p>\n

Marci Newman was recently diagnosed with thyroid cancer and has been undergoing radiation treatments, BuzzFeed News reported. The treatments required that she remain in isolation.<\/p>\n

But her husband, Jon Newman, didn\u2019t let that stop him from being there for her.<\/p>\n

One day, their 17-year-old daughter, Mackenna, came home from school to a heartwarming sight. She saw her father sitting on a chair that was positioned just outside of her mother\u2019s room. The door was slightly cracked open.<\/p>\n

Mackenna took a picture of her father keeping her mother company and shared it on social media.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cMy mom has to stay in her room in isolation for her cancer radiation so my dad set up a desk at her door to keep her company and I\u2019m crying,\u201d Mackenna wrote on Twitter.<\/p>\n

The photo quickly went viral, receiving more than 71,000 retweets and more than 172,000 likes. Several social media users offered words of support to Mackenna and her family.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeautiful! True, beautiful, [meaningful] love,\u201d wrote one Twitter user. \u201cAll the best to your mom.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI am a little late discovering this inspiring tweet. Thinking of you and your family. Your parents are amazing,\u201d wrote another. \u201cYour dad. Incredible!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy heart is melting tell your mom I\u2019m praying for her [and] your Fam,\u201d added another. \u201cYour parents are amazing. Praying for a positive outcome for you all!\u201d<\/p>\n

Mackenna said she appreciated all the love and support she and her family encountered on social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe amount of love I\u2019ve received is crazy and I didn\u2019t expect any of it, but I\u2019m so grateful,\u201d Mackenna told BuzzFeed News. \u201cI just thought it was sweet because they are so in love.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 17-year-old\u2019s mom added that this particular gesture by her husband was not an uncommon one.<\/p>\n

\u201cJon goes to every doctor\u2019s appointment, every blood test, every surgery, every radiation,\u201d Marci said. \u201cAnd, as you can see, if he can\u2019t be by my side he is as close as he can get!\u201d<\/p>\n
