About 33 out of every 1,000 births are twins.<\/p>\n<p>And what are the chances of identical twins? Approximately every three or four births out of every 1,000 are identical twins. So again, relatively rare.<\/p>\n<p>When 23-year-old Savannah Combs found out she was pregnant with twins, she was thrilled. And then she learned another rarity, they both had Down syndrome.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/newzdiscover.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/273524971_132790072571556_3004599262869759810_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"444\" height=\"960\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6900\" srcset=\"https:\/\/newzdiscover.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/273524971_132790072571556_3004599262869759810_n.jpg 444w, https:\/\/newzdiscover.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/273524971_132790072571556_3004599262869759810_n-139x300.jpg 139w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 444px) 100vw, 444px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Savannah, who is from Middleburg, Florida, shared her post-pregnancy journey with her daughters Kennadi Rue and Mckenli Ackerman, on TikTok where they quickly gained a following.<\/p>\n<p>In one of her videos, Savannah said she was told to abort her babies because they would not make it.<\/p>\n<p>She decided to keep them and give them a fighting chance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dEvery [prenatal] appointment they were alive was a blessing to me,\u201d Savannah explained.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/newzdiscover.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/308424165_186375557213007_4054704382537162694_n-768x1024-1-624x832-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"624\" height=\"832\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6901\" srcset=\"https:\/\/newzdiscover.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/308424165_186375557213007_4054704382537162694_n-768x1024-1-624x832-1.jpg 624w, https:\/\/newzdiscover.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/308424165_186375557213007_4054704382537162694_n-768x1024-1-624x832-1-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 624px) 100vw, 624px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When she learned they both had Down syndrome, her husband was away at boot camp.<\/p>\n<p>Savannah was 29 weeks pregnant when she was admitted to the hospital, and delivered her daughters. They have a beating heart. They know how to talk. They know how to do things you do. They will get there,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLike I said, it may be a step behind but they\u2019re going to do it. As a result, the young mom has had to answer some real insensitive users on social media.<\/p>\n<p>First months of life \ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n<p>Posted by Mckenli Kennadi Ackerman on Tuesday, November 30, 2021<\/p>\n<p>\u201dI wouldn\u2019t want those babies; if mine came out like that, they would be straight up for adoption,\u201d one person wrote to the mother.<\/p>\n<p>But Savannah had the perfect answer, which she shared on Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI said, good thing they weren\u2019t born to you and were born to me.
