Michael J. Fox, who bravely battled Parkinson\u2019s disease for 33 years, now copes with its challenges. He relies on medication to combat facial muscle paralysis, causing involuntary movements. Despite his struggles, Fox\u2019s positive outlook on life inspires many.<\/p>\n

Director Davis Guggenheim, who spent time with Fox, wished for a similar perspective. Fox acknowledged that Parkinson\u2019s is a complex gift, \u201cIt\u2019s the gift that keeps on taking, but it has changed my life in so many positive ways.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fox\u2019s journey hasn\u2019t been easy. He faced bouts of depression amid a series of injuries, including broken bones and surgeries. Nevertheless, he remains resilient, saying, \u201cI\u2019m a tough son of a b****.\u201d<\/p>\n

Acknowledging his mortality at 62, Fox isn\u2019t afraid of the future. He understands that one day he may decide, \u201cI\u2019m not going out today.\u201d<\/p>\n

While life with Parkinson\u2019s grows tougher, Fox remains determined, though he doesn\u2019t expect to see his 80th year. He\u2019s ready to carry Parkinson\u2019s with him as long as needed, but acknowledges that it\u2019s \u201cbanging on the door.\u201d<\/p>\n
