However, Wheel of Fortune viewers were shocked when Vanna White graced the cover of Playboy magazine in 1987. They were shocked that such a wholesome celebrity would remove her clothes from the camera.<\/p>\n
She ended up having to do the shoot to make ends meet and to afford her rent.<\/p>\n
When she was sixty, she told Fox News, \u201cWhen I first moved to Hollywood, I was too embarrassed to ask my dad for rent money. I was young and I wanted to do it on my own. So, I did these lingerie shots and from the moment I said I would do them, I thought, \u2018I shouldn\u2019t be doing this, but I\u2019m not going to ask my dad for money, so I\u2019m just going to do it!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
When she appeared on Playboy\u2019s cover, Vanna told Johnny Carson, \u201cI\u2019m so sorry . . . I made a mistake, I\u2019m sorry and I just hope I don\u2019t lose my job over it.\u201d<\/p>\n
