Everyone around was used to seeing these little ones spread joy, laughter, and light.Tragically, Saige and Ashlynn lost their lives in a deadly fire that broke out inside a shed on Sunday, October 22, 2023. \u201cThis family will never be the same without these children in their lives,\u201d read the caption on a GoFundMe page created to support their devastated family.<\/p>\n
Gone Too Soon
\nAs per an update posted on the online fundraiser, it was revealed that their remaining two children, Mavis and Isaac, faced a challenging journey to recovery. Both children were slated for numerous surgeries, and their medical requirements were anticipated to be lifelong, indicating a prolonged and challenging healing process.<\/p>\n

Mavis and Isaac were admitted to the Royal Children\u2019s Hospital, Melbourne, Australia, where their mother, Jasmine Beck, kept vigil, surrounding them with photos in their hospital room. In a Facebook post from October 23, the children\u2019s father, Kane McGregor, expressed his profound grief, describing the past 36 hours as the most agonizing of his life. He wrote:<\/p>\n
\u201c[Absolutely] broken-hearted having to let go of my 2 youngest [babies]. [The] only thing keeping me together is holding onto and fighting for my other two. [Come] on Mavis and Isaac you are both so strong and way [too] stubborn to give in so keep fighting.\u201d<\/p>\n

In an interview on October 24, Kane opened up about his brave son, who also passed away a day later after trying to protect his younger siblings. The devastated dad expressed at the time, \u201cIsaac had [his] two [siblings] huddled under him so they didn\u2019t burn. He stayed there until he died himself.\u201d<\/p>\n
