Initial reports say it was an isolated incident during which an employee at the hospital fired shots at a co-worker. He handed himself over to the police officers who called him on the phone requesting he gets out of the residence.<\/p>\n<p>However, his identity hasn\u2019t been confirmed yet.<\/p>\n<p>The employees at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital spoke of the shooting, describing the chaos that unfolded.<br \/>\n\u201cI was getting into the parking lot getting ready to walk in and another coworker was screaming to get in my car there was an active shooter,\u201d a medical assistant told Local 4.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/newzdiscover.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/CH.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"634\" height=\"370\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-26609\" srcset=\"https:\/\/newzdiscover.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/CH.webp 634w, https:\/\/newzdiscover.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/CH-300x175.webp 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 634px) 100vw, 634px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI saw police officers on the parking garage with their guns drawn walking in a line, I was getting ready to walk in to punch in for the day.<\/p>\n<p>Further, she added: \u201cIt\u2019s scary. You go to your workplace thinking you\u2019re going to be safe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Also, amid the shooting, social media users reported receiving a warning that read: \u201cACTIVE SHOOTER reported near Troy Corewell Health Beaumont Hospital (M59 and Dequindre). AVOID the area and SHELTER in place.
