A member of President Donald Trump\u2019s administration traded barbs online with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton regarding Department of Government Efficiency boss Elon Musk\u2019s work in identifying wasteful spending associated with USAID.<\/p>\n
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy responded to a jab by Clinton online after he said that DOGE personnel under Musk were going to help the department upgrade its aviation systems following a pair of deadly plane crashes during Duffy\u2019s short tenure.<\/p>\n
Clinton claimed that the department has \u201cdeteriorated\u201d under Duffy\u2019s leadership \u2014 ignoring all of the transportation infrastructure accidents and mishaps during former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg\u2019s four-year tenure.<\/p>\n
Clinton also claimed that DOGE personnel don\u2019t have the \u201crelevant experience\u201d to tackle an aviation system upgrade.<\/p>\n
\u201cMost of them aren\u2019t old enough to rent a car. And you\u2019re going to let them mess with airline safety that\u2019s already deteriorated on your watch?\u201d she questioned in a Wednesday post on X.<\/p>\n
Duffy responded that it was actually the \u201cexperienced Washington bureaucrats\u201d that were behind the problems in the federal government, and why the \u201cnation\u2019s infrastructure is crumbling.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cYou need to sit this one out,\u201d he noted further before going on to reveal that Musk\u2019s team had also uncovered \u201cextreme grifting\u201d by both Bill and Hillary Clinton via USAID.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know you\u2019re lashing out because DOGE is uncovering your family\u2019s obscene grifting via USAID, but I won\u2019t let you lie and distort facts,\u201d Duffy, a former Fox News host, wrote in a Thursday post. \u201cI\u2019m returning this department to its mission of safety by using innovative technology in transportation and infrastructure.<\/p>\n
\u201cYour team had its chance and failed. We\u2019re moving on without you because the American people want us to make America\u2019s transportation system great again. And yes, we\u2019re bringing the 22-year-olds with us,\u201d Duffy continued.<\/p>\n
In addition to rail accidents, such as a massive chemical spill near a small town in Ohio under the Biden-Harris administration, aircraft manufactured by Boeing were involved in several in-flight incidents and emergencies, including the sudden loss of a cabin door and issues with the latest version of the aircraft maker\u2019s 737. Also, Boeing\u2019s Starliner spacecraft has also faced a host of serious problems and issues on its maiden crewed flight, stranding two astronauts on the International Space Station.<\/p>\n
