Joy Reid wept as she broke her silence after being fired from MSBNC, expressing her \u2018anger and rage\u2019 over her ousting.<\/p>\n

The ultra-liberal pundit clarified that she is \u2018not sorry\u2019 despite the cancellation of The Reid Out as the struggling network looks to restructure its programming.<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019ve been through every emotion\u2026 anger, rage, disappointment, hurt\u2026 guilt. You know, [ a feeling] that I let my team lose their jobs,\u2019 Reid said during a Zoom conversation with the Win With Black Women podcast.<\/p>\n

\u2018But in the end, where I really land\u2026 is just gratitude. Just pure gratitude and gratitude. Not just because people would take the time to get on a call like this or to take care of me. But also that my show had value.\u2019<\/p>\n

Reid broke down as she explained that she\u2019s not sorry for having gone \u2018hard on so many\u2019 progressive issues like Black Lives Matter or immigrant rights on her primetime slot.<\/p>\n

\u2018Whether it\u2019s talking about any of these issues and, yes, whether it\u2019s talking about Gaza and the fact that we as the American people have a right to object, to have a right to object to little babies being bombed,\u2019 Reid went on.<\/p>\n

\u2018And and where I come down on that is I\u2019m not sorry. I am not sorry that I stood up for those those things because those things are of God.\u2019<\/p>\n

Joy Reid wept as she broke her silence after being fired from MSBNC<\/p>\n

Network president Rebecca Kutler revealed MSNBC has not heard from Reid while addressing staffers of The Reid Out on Sunday weekend following the cancelation, Status News reported.<\/p>\n

\u2018We are waiting to get a response from Joy and her team about how she would like to handle that, and we want to defer to her on that,\u2019 Kutler told staff about a final episode for The Reid Out.<\/p>\n

The Reid Out was canceled amid tanking ratings \u2013 a decision leaked early Sunday and confirmed by her bosses just hours later.<\/p>\n

Katie Phang, Jonathan Capehart and Ayman Mohyeldin have also reportedly been given the boot from their current timeslots, the New York Post reported.<\/p>\n

Fellow NBCU asset NBC News further confirmed Monday that Lester Holt was also leaving his iconic Nightly News gig.<\/p>\n

Sunday\u2019s meeting quickly grew \u2018tense and emotional\u2019, according to Status News, after The Reid Out was dumped because of poor ratings.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, some of the angry employees demanded answers about why the show was cancelled and what it meant for their futures at MSNBC.<\/p>\n

Kutler insisted Donald Trump was not a factor in the decision and the network\u2019s changes were made based on \u2018data analysis and programming strategy\u201d that she believes will \u201cbest position MNSBC for the year ahead.\u2019<\/p>\n

She said the show\u2019s cancellation was part of a \u2018broader slate of programming changes that will be laid out\u2019 on Monday.<\/p>\n

The show\u2019s staffers reportedly expressed \u2018frustration and disbelief\u2019 that they learned of the show\u2019s fate through media reports and not the network\u2019s leadership.<\/p>\n

Kutler confirmed the show\u2019s staff has been terminated but will be paid until April and receive severance.<\/p>\n

Amid a looming landscape of languishing cable and legacy news stations, MSNBC had their lowest-rated January in history in the highly sought 25-54 demographic.<\/p>\n

The statistic holds importance to advertisers due to the group\u2019s spending power and the fact that it pertains to both daytime and primetime.<\/p>\n

During the hours of 8-11 p.m. ET, MSNBC barely managed an audience of 734,000, with CNN securing just 522,000.<\/p>\n

This all occurred during a hectic news cycle that featured coverage of Justin Trudeau\u2019s resignation, Trump\u2019s inauguration and the controversy surrounding the president\u2019s parade of appointments and pardons.<\/p>\n
