One woman who is known throughout the fashion industry is giving some advice to those who wish to remain youthful, and her claim has led to quite the discussion.<\/p>\n
A notable fashion designer named Carolina Herrera made the bold claim that \u201ca woman must age graciously, and not try to be an age she\u2019s not or she will look ridiculous.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI see many women in the street and, from the back, they look very nice with their long hair and their little skirts. But when they turn around \u2014 aargh, they\u2019re ancient!\u201d she said per the DailyMail.<\/p>\n
The fashion designer has some rules for those who want to maintain a more youthful look with the main idea being avoid looking younger than you are.<\/p>\n
Herrera advises women to avoid trends.
\n\u201cI don\u2019t believe in trends because trends make it look like you\u2019re wearing a uniform. Some item of clothing comes out \u2014 and suddenly everyone looks the same.\u201d<\/p>\n
One trend she\u2019ll never get behind is the lack of clothing some people choose to wear.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe worst thing is women who go out almost naked. Influencers are not the style of fashion, they are the style of money,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Another item she says women should avoid is jeans. They\u2019re something she\u2019s given up a long time ago.
\nThe controversial opinion even led to an uproar among her colleagues.
\n\u201cI don\u2019t wear jeans. I\u2019m not the right age for them. Jeans are for young people, too. Move on to something new,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Herrera also offered her two cents about how to style hair once a woman has reached a certain age.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt a certain age, I think most women suit shorter hair. I don\u2019t think long hair down to here [she pointed past her shoulders] looks right.\u201d<\/p>\n
She\u2019s previously said that age is around 40.
\nInterestingly enough she does believe in Botox, but only to a point.<\/p>\n
\u201cI go to a very good person who gives me treatments and a little bit of Botox. But I don\u2019t believe in big changes,\u201d she said. \u201cI see women friends and I think: \u2018What\u2019s happened to her lips?\u2019 She\u2019s had them made bigger. But if you are not born with fuller lips, why do you want them to be big? You will look like a clown.\u201d<\/p>\n
