We\u2019ve seen some fashion labels feature elderly models and others bring an end to the practice of retouching photos of models.<\/p>\n

But having said that, we still have a long way to go.<\/p>\n

Because recently when a loving mother sent in pictures of her son to children\u2019s clothing company Oshkosh B\u2019Gosh, the management wasn\u2019t at all interested in using him as a model.<\/p>\n

The reason? The boy has Down syndrome.<\/p>\n

Meagan Nash and her family live in the US state of Georgia.<\/p>\n

When children\u2019s clothing company Oshkosh B\u2019Gosh recently announced that they were looking for models, Meagan got excited and sent in photos of her 15-month-old son, Asher.<\/p>\n

The toddler perfectly fit the company\u2019s requirements. He was the right height, he had the right hair color, and his eyes were the right color, too.<\/p>\n

But after Meagan sent in photos of her son, she didn\u2019t hear a word.<\/p>\n

Meagan contacted representatives from the company, who told her that they weren\u2019t interested in using Asher in their upcoming campaign, because they didn\u2019t want \u201ca baby with special needs.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDid they say they were not casting a baby with special needs?\u201d the mother hit back, according to The Independent.<\/p>\n

Meagan was angry and frustrated.<\/p>\n

Sure, she could understand that not every child can be given the chance to be a model, but to deny her son just because he has an extra chromosome?<\/p>\n

Meagan, who wishes the company had thought it through and realized how much Asher would have been able to bring them, decided to act.<\/p>\n

She posted pictures of her son Asher in the Facebook group \u201cKids with Down\u2019s syndrome.\u201d<\/p>\n

Photographer Crystal Barbee\u2019s photographs of the super charming Ashley wearing a blue denim shirt and bow tie were an instant success.<\/p>\n

Meagan wrote a message to the company that turned down her son:<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s make a difference- share so they see Asher!<\/p>\n

This handsome boy is ready to show the world what Changing the Face of Beauty is really about.\u201d<\/p>\n

At time of writing this, Asher\u2019s photos have been liked over 100,000 times on Facebook.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are working with Changing the Face of Beauty organization and trying to get Oshkosh to use him in their advertisements,\u201d Megean wrote in the post, and stressed that it was an agency, not the clothing company, that had turned down her son.<\/p>\n
