Tears welled up in Lena\u2019s eyes as she whispered, “You should just know, George. After all these years, you should know how I feel.”<\/p>\n

There was a moment of silence between them before Lena sighed, her voice breaking.<\/p>\n

“But maybe… maybe you\u2019re right. Maybe we didn\u2019t try hard enough.”<\/p>\n

George stepped closer, his voice soft but full of hope.<\/p>\n
