The View\u201d co-host Whoopi Goldberg angered Christian-minded Americans on Monday after she insinuated that their conservative views may not align with those of the Almighty during a discussion about former President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n
The current GOP presidential frontrunner gave a speech at the recent Faith & Freedom Coalition convention, which led Goldberg to say she hoped evangelicals would \u201cwake up and realize that God may not be on their side the way they think he is.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat was shocking to me was the hypocrisy of the evangelical community, booing at the truth,\u201d co-host Sunny Hostin offered at one point in the discussion, according to Breitbart News. \u201cI mean, we can all have differences of opinions, but the facts remain the same. And, he did these things, so it\u2019s almost like they were going, \u2018la la la la la la la la\u2019 like little kids because they\u2019re still going to vote for him.\u201d<\/p>\n
Goldberg responded: \u201cThe evangelicals are not the evangelicals of my youth. I\u2019ve always known evangelicals. And while we have different roads to God, they\u2019re, you know, basically the same roads. But I don\u2019t know who these folks are.\u201d<\/p>\n
You know, the thing about evangelicals that we all have to remember is that they\u2019re human beings,\u201d she continued. \u201cThey\u2019re people and they\u2019re flawed, like all of us, so, you know, when they wake up and realize that God may not be on their side the way they think he is, because someone who says, \u2018I\u2019m doing this for you,\u2019 sounds an awful lot like, you know \u2013\u201d<\/p>\n
Referring to Jesus Christ, Co-host Sara Haines chimed in and said, \u201cThe great J.C.\u201d \u2014 a reference to Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n
\u201cYeah, yeah,\u201d Goldberg responded.<\/p>\n
\u201cMany of them are such good people and being taken by this charlatan, which is distressing,\u201d Hostin claimed.<\/p>\n

\u201cWoke corporations should wake up and realize that the consumer may not be on their side,\u201d one Twitter user noted.<\/p>\n

Last month, some fans of ABC\u2019s \u201cThe View\u201d said they wanted co-host Whoopi Goldberg replaced with an infamous ex-host after she made a slew of \u201coffensive\u201d comments about the Holocaust.<\/p>\n
A Reddit user created a thread on the platform about the controversy and titled it: \u201cIf Whoopi is fired, should they bring back Rosie? Whoopi who I love once again said something really dumb and ABC has to be angry. If she\u2019s fired, should they get Rosie O\u2019Donnell back as a mod? She was good TV, IMO.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI would love for Rosie to come back if only to see how she would handle the Sunny issue. I also think it would be interesting to see how she interacts with Farrah. She and Elizabeth were on opposite sides politically, but did get along quite well for a while,\u201d wrote another fan.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Goldberg was suspended from \u201cThe View\u201d for claiming the Holocaust was not about race. She apologized for the comments but in a new interview with the U.K. paper The Sunday Times, it appears her apology may not have been sincere.<\/p>\n

Journalist Janice Turner explained to Goldberg that there were race laws the Nazis created against Jews and said that \u201cNazis saw Jews as a race.\u201d<\/p>\n
