It\u2019s not like I plan it, but somehow I always end up eating out more often than I thought I would. The worst part is throwing away food that would have been perfectly good just a few days ago. But these days, I\u2019m trying to eat better, cut down on waste\u2014and save some money, too!<\/p>\n<p>Overripe tomatoes are just one of the foods that sometimes go bad before we get to use them, but after reading this, you\u2019ll think twice about doing it again.<\/p>\n<p>Because instead of going to the store and buying new tomatoes, you can actually grow your own at home.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/newzdiscover.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/357432461_575210151434609_4491935328001291955_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"583\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1567\" srcset=\"https:\/\/newzdiscover.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/357432461_575210151434609_4491935328001291955_n.jpg 600w, https:\/\/newzdiscover.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/357432461_575210151434609_4491935328001291955_n-300x292.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In just a matter of weeks, the YouTube channel \u201cThe Wannabe Homesteader\u201d managed to grow tomatoes using nothing more than a pot, some soil, and some old tomatoes!<\/p>\n<p>1. Start by slicing up some overripe tomatoes.<\/p>\n<p>2. Put the tomato slices in a pot filled with soil and then cover the slices with a little more soil.<\/p>\n<p>3. Water sporadically and wait 7-14 days. You should see tomato plants starting to sprout.<\/p>\n<p>4.
