Former Pennsylvania volunteer fire chief Corey Comperatore has been identified as the man killed by a sniper during an attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>The tragic incident occurred at a PA Trump Rally where Comperatore, 50, lost his life while trying to protect his daughter. The shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, wounded the former president and injured two others before being killed by law enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>Dawn Comperatore Schafer, Corey\u2019s sister, shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook, stating, \u201cThe PA Trump Rally claimed the life of my brother, Corey Comperatore. The hatred for one man took the life of the one man we loved the most.\u201d She described her brother as a hero who died shielding his daughter. \u201cHatred has no limits, and love has no bounds. Pray for my sister-in-law, nieces, my mother, sister, me, and his nieces and nephews as this feels like a terrible nightmare but we know it is our painful reality.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Corey\u2019s wife and daughter also shared their experiences from that day. His daughter, Allyson, wrote, \u201cHe shielded my body from the bullet that came at us. He loved his family. What my precious girls had to witness is unforgivable. What I had to was.
