\u201cWhere are you headed off to?\u201d Jessica asked me as I gathered my handbag and cellphone before leaving the office.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust to the bank,\u201d I replied. \u201cI\u2019ll be back soon and then we can get something for lunch.\u201d<\/p>\n

I walked into the bank ready to make a payment and lighten my husband\u2019s load. But what I discovered was a different reality altogether.<\/p>\n

I walked out of the house and went back to the hotel where Jessica promised to come over and spend the evening with me.<\/p>\n

The next day, I consulted a lawyer and fought to reclaim the money that I had unknowingly handed over to Helen.<\/p>\n
