During Brian\u2019s 15th birthday celebration at the restaurant, a woman suddenly interrupted the party. Brian was stunned to see her \u2014 he couldn\u2019t possibly imagine that this woman was his mother. Why? Because his father had always told him that she had died many years ago.<\/p>\n

The Goldman family restaurant was lively with Brian\u2019s 15th birthday party. Colorful balloons and twinkling fairy lights decorated the space. Although Brian and his father, Adam, were just a family of two, many friends and relatives came to celebrate, filling the room with warmth and laughter.<\/p>\n

But despite the happy atmosphere, Brian felt a touch of loneliness as he watched his classmates with their mothers. His heart longed for the mother he never had.<\/p>\n

Adam noticed Brian\u2019s sadness and tried to lift his spirits. \u201cLook at them all, here for you, buddy!\u201d he said, gesturing around.<\/p>\n

Suddenly, Adam called for attention to make a toast. He spoke warmly of Brian, making the room laugh with stories of Brian\u2019s childhood. Then he surprised Brian with a set of car keys, announcing that he had bought him a car.<\/p>\n

Just then, a disheveled woman in a hospital gown burst in. The room went silent.<\/p>\n

Two police officers quickly came in and cuffed her. \u201cMa\u2019am, you need to come with us,\u201d one officer said, taking her arm.<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t trust the police, they\u2019re on your father\u2019s side!\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

The police car drove away with Alice, leaving Brian stunned. \u201cI have a sister?\u201d he thought.<\/p>\n

Back inside, Brian confronted his father. \u201cDad, we need to talk. Alone,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In Adam\u2019s office, Brian was fuming. \u201cWas that really Mom? And yes, you better not lie! You said she was dead!\u201d<\/p>\n

Adam ran his fingers through his hair and sighed. \u201cYes, it was her. I lied because I thought it was best.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brian didn\u2019t believe him.<\/p>\n

At that moment, the door opened slightly, and a young waitress peeked in.<\/p>\n

\u201cMr. Goldman, I\u2019m so sorry to interrupt,\u201d she said hesitantly, noticing the tension in the room. \u201cThere\u2019s a famous critic here tonight. He\u2019s incognito, likely for a secret inspection. He\u2019s seated at table nine.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMake sure everything is perfect for him,\u201d Adam instructed the waitress.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll talk later,\u201d Adam told Brian, returning to his work.<\/p>\n

Brian glared at his father, then stormed out, slamming the office door so hard a picture shook on the wall. He locked himself in the bathroom, sobbing.<\/p>\n

But Brian knew he couldn\u2019t just sit and cry. He had to save his mom and his sister before it was too late. Determined, Brian wiped his tears. \u201cI\u2019m coming, Mom,\u201d he whispered to himself.<\/p>\n

Brian went to the kitchen, where a chef was preparing a fancy dish. Brian pretended to be curious. \u201cWhat are you making? It smells amazing!\u201d<\/p>\n

The chef, proud, explained he was making seared foie gras with balsamic reduction. As the chef fetched something, Brian added a laxative to the dish and stirred it in secretly.<\/p>\n

\u201cThanks, I\u2019ll remember that!\u201d Brian said, then left quickly.<\/p>\n

Then, he drove his new car toward the mental hospital where his mother supposedly was.<\/p>\n

At the hospital, Brian saw a group of medical students. \u201cI\u2019m with them. Sorry, I\u2019m late,\u201d he told the receptionist and grabbed a visitor\u2019s gown and a ward access card while she was distracted.<\/p>\n

Disguised, Brian searched the wards for his mother. Finally, he found her. \u201cMom,\u201d he whispered.<\/p>\n

\u201cBrian? Is it really you?\u201d she asked, her voice weak.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, it\u2019s me. I came as soon as I found out you were here,\u201d Brian replied, holding her hand, trying his best to hold back his tears.<\/p>\n

Alice\u2019s eyes filled with tears as she spoke to Brian. \u201cI\u2019m so sorry, Brian. Your father, he\u2014\u201d she stopped, looking around nervously.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s done a lot, Mom. Now I know about my sister, too,\u201d Brian said quietly.<\/p>\n

Alice nodded. \u201cYes, your sister. I tried to help her escape, but your father found out and had me locked up here to keep me quiet.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll get you out and find my sister,\u201d Brian promised, squeezing her hand.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow? The staff here\u2026\u201d Alice began.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey won\u2019t stop us. I\u2019ve got a key card,\u201d Brian interrupted, showing her the card.<\/p>\n

Brian quickly left and went to the doctors\u2019 lounge. He found a doctor\u2019s gown and mask and took them back to Alice. \u201cPut these on. It\u2019ll help us leave without anyone noticing,\u201d he whispered urgently.<\/p>\n

Alice dressed quickly, though her hands shook. \u201cWill this work?\u201d she asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has to,\u201d Brian replied, helping her adjust the mask.<\/p>\n

They walked quietly through the hospital. At a service exit, Brian felt hopeful. They stepped out into the night and hurried to his car. But a security guard saw them and shouted.<\/p>\n

\u201cHurry, get in!\u201d Brian yelled. They jumped into the car just as the guard ran up. Brian drove off fast, with the guard chasing them in a security vehicle.<\/p>\n

\u201cWill\u2026will we be able to lose him?\u201d Alice asked in fear.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will,\u201d Brian assured her, driving quickly onto the main road.<\/p>\n

They lost the security vehicle after a tense chase through the city. Pulling over, Brian said, \u201cWe have to run now.\u201d They left the car and ran into the city, catching a taxi.<\/p>\n

\u201cHead towards the old Milltown road,\u201d Alice told the taxi driver.<\/p>\n

They drove until the surroundings turned into dense woods. Alice told the driver to stop at an overgrown driveway. \u201cThis is it,\u201d she said softly.<\/p>\n

Brian paid the taxi driver, and they stepped out into the cold forest. An old, rundown house stood in front of them, its paint peeling and windows boarded up.<\/p>\n

\u201cIs this really the place?\u201d Brian asked, looking around.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, this is where he kept her\u2026 where he might still keep her,\u201d Alice replied, staring at the house.<\/p>\n

They walked up to the house. The door wasn\u2019t locked, so they pushed it open and entered. The inside of the old structure was dusty and filled with old furniture and cobwebs.<\/p>\n

\u201cHello?\u201d Brian called out, but only silence answered back.<\/p>\n

They walked through the house, checking each room. Everything was covered in dust, as if the place had been abandoned long ago. Alice touched the staircase\u2019s banister and whispered, \u201cShe was here\u2026 I can feel it.\u201d<\/p>\n

They went upstairs and then decided to check the basement. It was cold and damp down there.<\/p>\n

A locked door stood at the end of the room. Brian found a crowbar and used it to break the lock. As they opened the door, they heard police sirens.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re coming,\u201d Brian whispered.<\/p>\n

Ignoring him, Alice rushed into the room and opened a large doll box. She pulled out a doll and held it close, saying, \u201cDaughter, we saved you!\u201d<\/p>\n

Brian realized then that his mother was delusional, believing the doll was her daughter.<\/p>\n

As police entered the house, they took Alice away. \u201cCome on, ma\u2019am. We gotta go. We\u2019re taking you to get help.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then, a cop informed Brian that Adam had been detained because someone was poisoned at his restaurant \u2014 a result of Brian tampering with the food to get Alice\u2019s revenge.<\/p>\n

Brian collapsed to the floor and buried his face in his palms, overwhelmed. What happened next? Well, the restaurant was closed, and his father faced legal issues and financial ruin.<\/p>\n

Brian watched everything fall apart, feeling guilty. He had tried to hurt his father, but it ended up harming many others.<\/p>\n
